Duty of Care data sharing - Don’t risk it!

One of the services many Travel Management Companies (TMCs) offer their corporate clients, is the sharing of their upcoming travel with their preferred duty of care (DOC) provider.

However, most agents simply forward those bookings manually, via the GDS. This is a huge risk, and here are some key things to consider about it:

  • Getting non-GDS data to the DOC provider then means having to re-create those as passive segments, during which errors are easily made

  • Many agents put a lot of notes and other customer information in their PNRs. Things like passport numbers, date of birth, preferences, home addresses etc - indeed data required by the TMC to be protected at all times, and in which many cases the DOC provider does not need. Yet, they send it all to the DOC provider.

  • Changes to trips happen all the time, and if your data sharing with the DOC is a manual process, you are relying on staff to remember to do that step whenever a booking has been changed

This is why at Agentivity, we worked with all the major DOC providers and integrated directly with their secure APIs to send to them the data they need to perform their duties, and only that data.

We’ve also automated that process so the process is always performed, including when the bookings are changed.
